Criss-Crossing South Moravia: Western Part of the Brno Region

The landscape to the west of Brno in fact does not correspond to our conventional idea of a typical South-Moravian countryside. You will not see any vineyards, apricot or peach orchards, with the exception of the neighbourhood of Dolní Kounice. You are entering the Brno and Bohemian-Moravian Uplands which lie in higher altitudes where the climate is colder. Typical of this landscape are deep river valleys, with enclosed meanders and many rocky formations...
