South Moravia is a tourist destination popular with locals and foreigners alike and it recently featured in the US national newspaper, USA Today. The paper recommended South Moravia as one of the five cheapest places in the world boasting a rich history and stunning wine villages. It can be compared with the French region of Provence.

"In vino veritas" goes the well known Latin saying. This is also true of South Moravia, a land of vineyards, juicy grapes and smooth vintages, as well as a landscape dotted with the highest number of castles and chateaux any region in the Czech Republic.

The Central Europe Region (an EU cross-border region bringing together adjacent parts of the Czech and Slovak republics, Hungary and Austria, has recently produced a publication entitled The CENTROPE Route Wine & Architecture. It is a very special kind of guidebook which takes lovers of wine and architecture to twenty-four destinations in the Central Europe Region.

Through South Moravia Christianity spread into Europe, and over the centuries many small and larger towns grew up along its rivers, while vineyards and orchards were established on its hillsides.
